JACOB WRIGHT
Jacob serves Liberty Baptist Church as a Lay Pastor
Jacob became a Christian when he was in 7th grade on a Wednesday night after a friend shared his testimony with him and Jacob realized that he had never trusted in Christ. Embarrassed to tell anyone, Jacob prayed alone in his room before bed, asking Jesus to forgive his sins and become the Lord of his life. When Jacob was 20-years-old, he realized that he should pursue pastoral ministry.
Jacob joined LBC in 2018 along with his wife Abby. He became a pastor in 2022. He serves the church through teaching, preaching, member care, and hospitality. His most significant hope for pastoral ministry is that through teaching, preaching, and counseling, the saints would be equipped to build each other up, until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of God’s Son, growing into maturity with a stature measured by Christ’s fullness (Eph 4:12-13). Jacob loves that LBC is a united church that acts like a true family. The members take seriously the covenant that they made with one another. Jacob is praying that by God’s Spirit we may be strengthened that each of us will be found perfect in Christ.
Outside of his ministry in the church, Jacob enjoys chasing his children, watching football, drinking good coffee, and singing very loudly in his car. Jacob works for Evergy during the week and is slowly working on finishing his M.Div. through online classes.
