Beginning this Sunday, September 26th, we will begin celebrating the Lord’s Supper together again during indoor worship services. We observe the Lord’s Supper every fourth Sunday of the month during both services.
We will begin collecting the elements in a different way than we have before indoors. It will be similar to what we have done at our outdoor, one-service Sundays. In order to be prepared for this Sunday, we encourage you to read the new plan below!
Timing in the Service
We will observe the Lord’s Supper after the sermon. During or following the sermon, Pastor Nathan will explain the significance of the Lord’s Supper and fence the table, giving us time to prepare for the Lord’s Supper and reflect on the sermon during the time of silent reflection.
The worship team will lead us in a song as we collect the elements. Once everyone has received the elements, one of the pastors will lead us to take the bread and cup together. After this, we will recite our church covenant together as members before receiving the benediction.
Logistics for Collecting the Elements
Rather than passing plates to distribute the elements, we will have members approach the table to collect the elements instead!
We will have two stations available, one on each side of the platform. We will encourage members to join the line for each station by proceeding to the center aisle first and then proceeding to the table on your side of the sanctuary. Some of our members will assist you at the table to collect bread and juice, and then you can move back to your seat using the outside aisle. Please view the graphic below to ensure you follow the flow of traffic.
If you need to have the elements brought to you for any reason, please raise your hand and one of our members will bring them to you where you are seated. We will continue to have gluten free bread available and clearly labeled at each station.
We look forward to once again celebrating the Lord’s Supper together more regularly!
