I once heard Pastor Sam describe Christians as “unapologetically bookish people.” He’s right! Followers of Christ are people of God’s Word, and one of the ways we know, understand, and apply God’s Word to our lives is by reading helpful resources written by other faithful Christians.

We as a church staff want to make some of these resources available to you. Each month, we provide one or two helpful books in the lobby outside the sanctuary. These books are available for a small suggested donation of $5 or less. All of these books are intended for anyone in the church to pick up and enjoy. Our goal is to provide short, clear, and practical resources that will help you abide in Christ and grow in your love for His people.

During 2020, all of our recommended books have been chosen to help us dig into components of our church covenant. While we can’t cover each component of the covenant with an individual book, we will look at topics like bearing burdens with one another, being slow to take offense, confessing our sins, contributing to the work of the church, and maintaining family and personal devotions. We’ll also provide blog articles throughout the year that address related topics to help us consider how to be faithful to each other and to our church covenant. Finally, we will provide devotional resources for both Easter and Advent this year!

As you see these recommended resources each month, pick up a book or two to read! Consider working intentionally through any topics from our church covenant that you have questions about. Prepare your personal and family devotions to include an Easter or Advent devotion, or read and discuss one of the books or articles with friends or family. We hope these resources are helpful to you and an encouragement to your soul as you pursue the Lord and one another.
