“Missional Community Groups create a space for members to learn and grow alongside one another as they pray, engage the lost, and serve the community.”

At Liberty Baptist Church, we exist to be and make disciples of Jesus by living in light of the gospel through worship, community, and mission. We believe that God created us to be in relationship with him and other believers, as we worship together and develop community with one another. We also believe that the gospel transforms us into outward-focused, gospel-proclaiming disciple makers. Missional Community Groups are our corporate endeavor to encourage both gospel-transformed community and gospel-intentional mission.

The purpose of Missional Community Groups is to build gospel-centered relationships—leading to friendship, encouragement, and accountability—through outward and open-handed gospel proclamation in word and deed. These Missional Community Groups create a space for members to learn and grow alongside one another by engaging the lost, praying, and serving our community. We pursue community among our church wholeheartedly, but we seek to do so through our pursuit of the mission God has given to his church.

Missional Community Group Options

All Missional Community Groups meet at the church for a short time of corporate worship before dividing into smaller groups to focus on prayer, evangelism, or service to the community.

Prayer Team: The Prayer Team prays strategically for the nations, unreached and unengaged people groups, evangelism efforts in Liberty, missionaries sent out from LBC, leaders in the community and church, and specific prayer needs as submitted to the Evangelism or Service Teams.

Evangelism Team: The Evangelism Team participates in door-to-door or community evangelism in areas throughout Liberty where interaction with unbelievers is likely to occur, strategically working to ensure homes in Liberty are engaged with the gospel.

Service Team: The Service Team serves the community of Liberty through a variety of gospel-intentional service activities. Activities may include assisting the Liberty Women’s Clinic, visiting local nursing homes, taking notes and treats to emergency responders or teachers, and hosting periodic outreach events for the community.
